So my computer can see my mom's laptop and vice versa, but my computer and my PS3 can't see each other, while my PS3 picks up my mom's laptop. They're all wireless (I've tried it wired). Granted, my computer does not have built in wireless, just an adapter.

I have tried absolutely everything (all the settings on my computer, even got PS3 Media Server) and I'd really rather not go and fuck around inside the router settings because I don't think it's the router, otherwise my mom's laptop and the PS3 wouldn't be communicating through it. UPnP is enabled on all of them. It's not a matter of being unable to stream, it's a matter of my computer just not seeing the PS3. At all. Yet it's obvious I can discover networks, otherwise I wouldn't be on one.

I have ESET but it's not actively running and I did try to turn off its firewall. Nothing. I have Windows 7. I also built my PC and never bought a separate network card for it.

I even tried to do it the ghetto way by just connecting an ethernet from my computer to my PS3 and it still can't see it, BUT I think before my computer was unable to utilize the ethernet cable in a different scenario. The cable itself is fine. I fucked with the LAN and adapter settings aplenty, and I definitely experimented. I spent a good whole day fucking around with this.

I've had this really annoying issue before with my 360, on a different computer that I simply could not fix until I had to get a new router for different reasons, but IIRC the xbox was unable to be incorporated into the network at all.

I'm assuming it's my computer. I've (admittedly casually, because it feels pretty hopeless) looked at help forums and whatnot, but even if they have the exact same problem there just... obviously isn't a solution for me that is working.

wat do

I have the exact setup as you even have eset and I can watch porn fine on my ps3 did you enable the service on your computer?  If you did you need to add what folders you want to see in windows media center.  Hit me up in vent if you need help.

Control panel. Network and Sharing center. Media streaming options. then make sure your computer is set to allow the PS3.

Thats the only thing I can think of that would block your PC from just the PS3.

Also, the PS3 will only see files in your public videos folder by default. Not sure how to change that.

Possible Unreachable Time Tonight
December 29th, 2011theuni41 comments
We will be changing registrars and nameservers for xbmc.org tonight (US time), which could lead to a brief unreachable period (via DNS) while the records propagate around the net. The move will affect this site, the forum, the wiki, trac, our email, and addons in XBMC itself. No action should be required by users or readers. This move away from our current registrar and to a non-US entity is intended as a small provision should the worst come to pass.

We are hoping for a seamless transition and we don’t foresee any difficulties, but don’t be alarmed by any unexpected results for the next day or so. We’ll update this space when the move is complete.
