If that final affix wasn't "Invulnerable," you had it easy, Mel.
Naa, I've had a few of those, they're not so bad unless they're, like invulnerable/horde/arcane/CC. Enchantress sheeps them through invulnerable, then I go to town on the main guy until I'm almost dead, run away and find another pack to revenge to full, repeat. Just slow. Horde + Arcane + CC == Instant wipe. Invulnerable just means "long fight". EDIT: It's possible I'm just terrible at Diablo. Arcane is easy to dodge when there's 3-4, but when there's like 10, I have difficulty. EDIT2: I'm also not in Act IV yet. How many hours have you people sunk into this game? |

So yeah, Inferno past act 1 is... frustrating.. to say the least. ><
I kind of expected it to be, so I suppose I'll just farm butcher/rares 'til I get lucky with some drops to either sell or equip. I've yet to get much of anything from inferno that's better than what I got in hell. =/
Oh and ActII kinda blows for DH; it seems if I come across an elite pack they always have the following:
Tele/Firechains/Mortor/Jailer; or if not that they're those rock crawling bastards that jump at you in a way in which you can't hit them mid-air. =/
More abuse of SS/Root Caltrops I guess?

My monk beat act2 today. All that matters for progression is +resist gear that is well itemized. I'm sure I could breeze to Act4 if i had 20mil gold. Alas, I probably won't be doing act3 for a very long time bc making that much money is time consuming for me.
It's a shame how much of an easier time other classes are having in inferno.
I'm not sure if I'm losing interest in this game yet, but as a melee class it's just a gold grindfest for resist gear.

I can definately see where you're coming from there; I tried playing my monk today (still level ~20) and realized how much more annoying it is to play a melee class in the game. I may get up some tank stats and shit if I ever decide to level him but chances are next 60 will be WD.

Despite the implications it doesn't take that long to get a character to 60 once you have one farming inferno. I have a lvl 30 monk with 1000 dex and a flawless square ruby in the helm, can mow through a level in 15 minutes just killing packs of creeps.
And Nothing is completely right, for melee it's a boring farm game to get the right gear with the right stats and resist. My barb is able to farm act 1 inferno as if it were a joke with over 100% MF before Nephalem Valor. Act 2 is considerably less fun.
I think they need to change the level range on the gear that drops from act 1 inferno or make crafting cheaper.

Farming -
Kungen seems to have a good thing going on his stream. He and 3 others go into the same cellar in act 1 in seperate games until one finds a goblin, then they all join that game / repeat.
I had decent success on act 4 right before the Library of Fate. There are 4-5 chest spawn points therenext to the waypoint, plus a decent chance for a fortune shrine. I was also able to solo a nearby yellow spawn from time to time.
I wore 180 magic find. Magic find on your follower contribues a small percent. I found a few decent ~100-200k rares and a 1170 blue staff
