Definitely not for everyone, but I'm listening to a lot of folk-punk lately, including Andrew Jackson Jihad. It's like the folk music equivalent of anarchy. Or a Kafka story.

I saw a 70ish year old dude with an Andrew Jackson Jihad shirt at a festival last week. It was glorious.

Nerding out over one of the lyrics for a second, but it's actually the sympathetic nervous system that controls/activates your fight or flight. Parasympathetic maintains your rest state. Song was still great.

It has just been brought to my attention that there are people who haven't heard Jaya the Cat.

I DJ, so I listen to just about everything, although I listen to a lot more Rap and Rock compared all other genres since nothing else gets me as pumped for a basketball game, working out, or just to go out and hit a local party up.

Here's a few! Gonna try and find some CDQ youtube links to make listening a click away, as opposed to opening another tab to hotnewhiphop.com. The HNHH links are perfectly safe, and so is the website; I've been using it for the past 1-2 years and have yet to download or stream anything malicious.

I'm a huge J. Cole fan, and have been for a few years now. Glad to see him finally drop is debut album (been out for a while now), blow up, and is making the money lyrics like his deserve. Not a song from his older mixtapes, and current, that I don't know by heart; that's how damn good of a lyricist this guy is in a time in Rap where it's all about "partying, one hit wonders, drugs, and pussy." I guess it also has a lot to do with the fact that I can relate to a lot of his music. A lot of his lines make you actually think to reveal the meaning, and it's just crazy when you figure it out. I don't mind that kind of rap as much, but it's nice to know that there are still a few rappers out there. A few of my all time favorites below.

Return of Simba - J. Cole powered by Aeva

This is next song a freestyle he ended up putting as a single on his mixtape "Friday Night Lights" which was a heavy contender for the 2010 Mixtape of the Year on HNHH.com... and it came out in November.

Back to the Topic (Freestyle) - J. Colepowered by Aeva

Now here's a few lines from the next song so you can understand what I mean by "how damn good of a lyricist this guy is;" ahhh forget it I'm too lazy, just listen to it.

Sideline Story - J. Colepowered by Aeva

Jay-Z is talking during the intro, incase you couldn't tell haha, you can skip that though. Song starts @ 0:40.

Rise and Shine - J. Cole powered by Aeva

"The ones you thought could hang with me can't even tie my noose..."

I guess what I'm trying to do is to show anyone that's given up on rap the light that J. Cole is bringing to the game. You won't be disappointed.

2 Chainz - T.R.U. Realigion <--- 2 Chainz' latest Mixtape.

.38 - Young Jeezy powered by Aeva

OJ - Young Jeezy (Links to HotNewHipHop)

Flexing - Meek Mill powered by Aeva

Burn - Meek Mill ft. Big Sean powered by Aeva

Went to the Juicy J and Devin the Dude concert here in Houston on August 2nd and it was definitely the livest concert I have ever been to! The Coldplay concert I went to with my girlfriend was almost as good... and we had seats in the 4th row from the stage haha.

So Damn Fucked Up - Juicy J powered by Aeva

I'm Ballin' - Juicy J powered by Aeva

Bandz A Make Her Dance (Strip Club Anthem) - Juicy J powered by Aeva

If you don't bother to look at the Juicy J songs above, at least look at this next one haha

A Zip and a Double Cup [Remix] - Juicy J ft. 2 Chainz and Tha Joker powered by Aeva

Just realized how much space this post is taking up, so I'll stop posting... for now haha. Didn't get to link any of my favorite Rock, but here's a small list:

- AC/DC
- Guns 'N Roses
- Red Hot Chili Peppers
- System of a Down

Yay, a fellow rock enthusiast! I once tried to convince Meloree to track an old Ulduar boss kill video with Freebird since it matched the video length perfectly. He decided to go with a super bland techno track instead. One of my favorite boss kill videos from youtube is one that introduced me to Kickstart My Heart.

Mötley Crüe! How could I forget them?! I remember when I first heard that song back in 6th grade haha. And I used to do some of our kill videos for EndGame back in late BC and the earlier part of Wrath before I transferred off. I can't remember which boss I used "Kickstart My Heart" on, but I wanna say it was Razorscale.
